Chuckwalla February 17/18, 2018

Registration for Chuckwalla is now open (will close @ 8PM MST on Thursday 2/15).

Link: https://nasaproracing.com/events/2792

Highlights about the event which is different from most of our AZ based events:
* BBQ: $15/pp (EVERYONE needs to register if they are staying for it Saturday - it is NOT included for registered drivers)
* Gate Fees: $15/pp one day or $25/pp for two days / Camping: $20/night for RVs/Trailers
* Cabins: $180/nt (or you can request an economy cabin where you bring all your own bedding, towels, etc for $125/nt) $15/pp if more than two guests. The cabins are booked directly through CVR (as of 1/29 they were sold out - call the track directly to check updated availability)
* Onsite Dyno: Fri, Sat & Sun
* Friday Track Day: Booked directly through CVR website. Cost is $175/pp and limited to the first 50 registered drivers. You can sign up here -->
https://www.motorsportreg.com/events...raceway-656603

Track Info:
Chuckwalla Valley Raceway (CW config - Sat / CCW Config - Sun)
http://goracecvr.com/
25300 Rice Rd
Desert Center, CA 92239
Phone: (760) 227-3100
NOTE: California Pacific/time will be 1 hour earlier than Arizona time

Track Gate/Entry Fees:
$15/per person for one day
$25/per person for two days
$35/per person for three days
Camping: $20/night for RVs/Trailers
NOTE: NASA does not charge these fees. This is the standard entry fee for the track/CVR.

Minors (i.e. under 1 are free but a consenting adult must fill out the track's Minor Release of Liability Agreement for each minor.
Important, wear your CVR wristband all weekend long. If a CVR staff member sees you w/o one, you will be required to go to the front officer to buy another one. If you are a driver, you will not be allowed on track and could miss track time due to having to go to the front office and buy another one.

NOTE: These are not charged by NASA. These are fees set by the track.

Paddock / Gate Times:
The gates will open at 7AM on FRIDAY and will NOT close until Sunday after the event ends. Please note that you MUST stop at the front office to sign both the CVR waiver as well as the NASA waiver. If they forget to have to sign the NASA waiver, please remind them (or else you'll just have to sign it at the NASA Driver Info later). If you do not stop to get a CVR wristband, you will not be allowed on track and could miss your first session.

NASA AZ Wife Swap
On Sunday there is a session after lunch called the "Wife Swap". This session doesn't need to be a "Wife", but it does need to be a female OR a male that is actually your "significant other". No experience is required but if that driver has no experience, they will require a coach that is an HPDE4 level driver. The vehicle used must also have a tech sticker and the driver must stop by Driver Info to first register (no cost).

Rules
• All participants should be aware of the NASA Club Codes & Regulations found here (http://nasaproracing.com/rules/ccr.pdf) RACE GROUP REMINDER: CCR Section 15.22 requires at least 1 forward facing video recording device while on track at all times.
• All participants should also be aware of the NASA Arizona region specific Supplemental Rules found here (https://nasaaz.com/nasa-arizona-supplemental-rules/) <-- NOTE: These were updated on 12/13/17 with new changes for 2018

“What time do I need to show up?”
This is the #1 question we are asked, especially by the folks new to NASA. See the event schedule (below or attached) for exact times but we always recommend ~1 hour prior to the drivers meeting (@ 7:30AM) to allow enough time to find a spot, check in with Driver Info (if you’re HPDE1) and get your car through tech and any other last min items before the drivers meeting.
NOTE: Despite this being a "NASA Arizona" event, we will run the event per “Pacific Time” (PDT) which will be 1 hour earlier than Arizona Time.

Tech Inspection
All HPDE cars require an onsite tech inspection prior to being allowed on track (1 tech inspection is good for both days). HPDE participants should print and fill out the "HPDE Tech" Form prior to arriving to tech. Race group & Time Trial competitors will use the “Annual Race Car” Tech forms if they haven’t already done their 2018 annual inspection. Forms can be found @ https://www.nasaproracing.com/forms
NOTE: Race group is encouraged to get their renewals done at one of the offsite shops. We can do "renewals" onsite for a fee of $20 (via pre-reg - or cash onsite). Race cars without a logbook are highly encouraged to get their first tech inspection done offsite at a shop. Primarily we ask this is done so that there is an opportunity to fix anything that requires a change. If a safety item is identified onsite, you may not be able to race or even run in TT/HPDE, unless you can also fix it onsite.

Driver Information
• Will be located under the "big white tent" near the middle of the paddock
• HPDE1 will need to “check in” with registration. All other groups will receive their credentials from their respective Group Leader directly after the Drivers Meeting

Loaner Helmets
Don't have your own helmet? No problem, we have you covered! Free loaner helmets are always available at Driver Info.

Drivers Meetings / Downloads
The drivers meeting per the schedule is mandatory for ALL drivers, instructors, officials, or anyone that will participate any way shape or form during the weekend. All other meetings times and locations will be announced by your respective Group Leader directly after the drivers meeting.

Passengers
Looking to take a passenger along for a ride on track? No problem but there's a few more steps required:
1. Passengers need to be 18 (with photo ID proof of age)
2. Passengers are only allowed in HPDE3, HPDE4 or Time Trial
3. Passengers are required to sign the "Passenger Waiver" (in addition to the general "Gate Waiver")
4. Pay the $10 fee

Transponder Rentals
Need to be checked out at registration
Need to be returned to registration within 30 mins of your final session to avoid a late fee
Time Attack competitors: If you rented a transponder for your TA session, it is only available for your TA laps. If you need a transponder for TT or Race group you will be required to pay for a full weekend rental.

Timing and Scoring
Results will be posted on the sign easels at Driver Info. Please report errors to "Driver Info" ASAP so they can get properly corrected. If you own your own transponder, please ensure your membership profile is configured with your TX # (NOTE: T&S downloads that # prior to the event to ease/automate results). Here is a "how 2" --> http://forums.nasaaz.com/showthread.php?t=6996
• Live (real time & archived) T&S @ https://racehero.io/events
• Provisional & Official Results @ http://timingscoring.drivenasa.com/NASA_Arizona_Region/

Race & TT Classing
All competitors classing sheets are publicly posted @ http://www.nasaaz.com/category/competition-classing/
If you are a competition driver and do not have a classing sheet or Team Declaration showing on this page, please get this information to your respective Series Leader or directly to Jeff Abrams jeff@mazdamaniac.com directly.

Food
Our hard working folks will be serving lunch for volunteers and officials *ONLY*. All other participants will need to plan ahead or purchase their lunch from the onsite food vendor.
Attendance to our world famous Sat night BBQ is requested but does require registration payment regardless if you are a driver or guest. "Kids" are free (unless they eat a lot). It is also the responsibility of all participants to ensure NO UNDER AGE DRINKING OCCUR AT THE EVENT!!!

Water
The club provides bottled water for staff/volunteers @ registration. That same water is also available to participants and guests @ 2 for $1 using the self serve cash box. Since paying for water is on the honor system, you don't have to take 2 bottles at time. If you want to donate a $1 and take 1 bottle of water and then 1 bottle later that day, that's fine.

Photography
Caliphotography will be servicing the event. Please see them at the event for all your Professional on-track photo needs.
NOTE: Due to an exclusive agreement between Caliphotography and CVR, no other photographers are allowed to take picture unless they are individuals taking pictures for their personal use only.

Fuel - the track as the following onsite pay at the pump:
91 Unleaded $5.75/gal
100 Unleaded $9.99/gal
110 Leaded $9.99/gal

Safety Equipment: We Don't Lift (WDL)
Safety Solutions will be onsite to provide our registrants with access to high quality driver safety products as well as accessories for your racecar! Helmets, gloves and shoes are available for fitting. HANS devices available for HPDE Rental (with CC on file). Please email any specific requests ahead of time via sales@wedontlift.com and follow us on Instragram (https://www.instagram.com/wedontlift/) and Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/weddontlift)! Please stop by and say hi to them at their trailer next to registration!

Tire Service
NASA Arizona will have tire service available for the duration of the event. If you need service, simply see registration before or after tire service to pay and one of our staff will get you fixed up as quick as we can. NOTE: Track people are honest and the honor system hasn't failed yet so no receipt necessary.

$5 – dismount
$10 – mount
$10 – balance
$5 – tire disposal <-- $0 if you take your old tires with you to self dispose

NOTE: Air is free and is self serve via the air-chuck located near the front of the NASA AZ gooseneck trailer.

Tage, will we be able to ride with our wives, instead of an instructor?

Just added these details to the event details thread above.
