Rules
• All participants should be aware of the NASA Club Codes & Regulations found here (http://nasaproracing.com/rules/ccr.pdf) RACE GROUP REMINDER: CCR Section 15.22 requires at least 1 forward facing video recording device while on track at all times.
• All participants should also be aware of the NASA Arizona region specific Supplemental Rules found here (https://nasaaz.com/nasa-arizona-supplemental-rules/) <-- NOTE: These were updated on 12/13/17 with new changes for 2018

“What time do I need to show up?”
This is the #1 question we are asked, especially by the folks new to NASA. See the event schedule (below or attached) for exact times but we always recommend ~1 hour prior to the drivers meeting to allow enough time to find a spot, check in with Driver Info (if you’re HPDE1) and get your car through tech and any other last min items before the drivers meeting.

Tech Inspection
All HPDE cars require an onsite tech inspection prior to being allowed on track (1 tech inspection is good for both days). HPDE participants should print and fill out the "HPDE Tech" Form prior to arriving to tech. Race group & Time Trial competitors will use the “Annual Race Car” Tech forms if they haven’t already done their 2018 annual inspection. Forms can be found @ https://www.nasaproracing.com/forms
NOTE: Race group is encouraged to get their renewals done at one of the offsite shops. We can do "renewals" onsite for a fee of $20 (via pre-reg - or cash onsite). Race cars without a logbook are highly encouraged to get their first tech inspection done offsite at a shop. Primarily so there is an opportunity to fix anything that requires a change. If a safety item is identified onsite, you may not be able to race or even run in TT/HPDE, unless you can also fix it onsite.

Driver Information
• Will be located near the NASA AZ trailers (see paddock map)
• HPDE1 will need to “check in” with registration. All other groups will receive their wristbands from their respective Group Leader directly after the Drivers Meeting

Loaner Helmets
Don't have your own helmet? No problem, we have you covered! Free loaner helmets are always available at Driver Info.

Drivers Meetings / Downloads
The drivers meeting per the schedule is mandatory for ALL drivers, instructors, officials, or anyone that will participate any way shape or form during the weekend. All other meetings times and locations will be announced by your respective Group Leader directly after the drivers meeting.

Passengers
Looking to take a passenger along for a ride on track? No problem but there's a few more steps required:
1. Passengers need to be 18 (with photo ID proof of age)
2. Passengers are only allowed in HPDE3, HPDE4 or Time Trial
3. Passengers are required to sign the "Passenger Waiver" (in addition to the general "Gate Waiver")

Transponder Rentals
• Need to be pick up from registration and returned within 30 mins of your final session to avoid penalties
• Time Attack competitors that also run in TT and/or Race --> Select the "Transponder Rental" option from the registration page and then select the lower cost TA option (since you'll already have a transponder)

Timing and Scoring
Results will be posted on the sign easels at Driver Info. Please report errors to "Driver Info" ASAP so they can get properly corrected. If you own your own transponder, please ensure your membership profile is configured with your TX # (NOTE: T&S downloads that # prior to the event to ease/automate results). Here is a "how 2" --> http://forums.nasaaz.com/showthread.php?t=6996
• Live (real time & archived) T&S @ https://racehero.io/events
• Provisional & Official Results @ http://timingscoring.drivenasa.com/NASA_Arizona_Region/

Race & TT Classing
All competitors classing sheets are publicly posted @ http://www.nasaaz.com/category/competition-classing/
If you are a competition driver and do not have a classing sheet or Team Declaration showing on this page, please get this information to your respective Group Leader or Jeff Abrams jeff@mazdamaniac.com directly.

Water
NASA AZ provides complementary water to staff but is also available for participants & guests using the self serve cash box @ 2 for $1.

Food
We will have a food vendor onsite. Please support the vendor to ensure they continue to support our events.
NOTE: Officials & Instructors will show their badge to get their lunch covered by NASA.

Graphics / Car Numbers
Tom from Twisted Priorities will be onsite and can create custom graphics and decals.

Fuel
Wild Horse Pass sells Torco Race Fuels at their pumps. Chevron is less than a mile away and has all regular pump grades of fuel. Loves is about a mile away (East side of freeway) and has race fuels at the pump as alternative options.

Safety Equipment: We Don't Lift (WDL)
Safety Solutions will be onsite to provide our registrants with access to high quality driver safety products as well as accessories for your racecar! Helmets, gloves and shoes are available for fitting. HANS devices available for HPDE Rental (with CC on file). Please email any specific requests ahead of time via sales@wedontlift.com and follow us on Instragram (https://www.instagram.com/wedontlift/) and Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/weddontlift)! Please stop by and say hi to them at their trailer next to registration!

Tire Service
NASA Arizona will have tire service available for the duration of the event. If you need service, simply see registration before or after tire service to pay and one of our staff will get you fixed up as quick as we can. NOTE: Track people are honest and the honor system hasn't failed yet so no receipt necessary.

$5 – dismount
$10 – mount
$10 – balance
$5 – tire disposal <-- $0 if you take your old tires with you to self dispose

NOTE: Air is free and is self serve via the air-chuck located near the front of the NASA AZ gooseneck trailer.

Also in case anyone missed it, race group is *required* to have video starting in January! Section 15.22 of the CCRs has additional details.

General processes will remain the same which is:

1. Body contact is turned in
2. Race Director reviews and the majority of the time it is clear cut (after reviewing video) and take appropriate action (usually from CCR 27.11)
3. *If* the RD isn't sure and/or wants a 2nd opinion to ensure fair/consistent action, then an IRB will be formed per the CCRs.

Jan 27-28 2018 Supersize?

I don't see an option to Supersize for Race and TT ?

"SupersizeTT - For Race Group drivers looking to also compete in Time Trial. NOTE: This option is ONLY good with a "2 day" paid "RACE" pre-registration. "

Thank you for checking on this.

Regards,

Compared to AMP, how is this track in terms of wear and tear on a car? I haven't been so I'm not sure what the surface is like. Watching videos, it seems like this track would be easier on brakes since the speeds seem lower overall.

Thanks,
Ryan

THis track is a piece of cake compared to AMP.

AMP is tough on tires and brakes. West track is probably the easiest on all consumables.
