It depends on how far away the relative measurements are taken. Unless one is measuring the lawnmower at the same distance as Jason was measuring us on the straight, they're not comparable. I doubt the typical lawnmower is going to be very loud at the relevant distance.

In general you lose roughly 6dB for every doubling of distance (for RF energy, anyway, since sound propagation isn't completely isotropic it's probably a little less).

Here is the latest: http://www.westvalleyview.com/main.a...rticleID=37810

Still nothing about the specific sound restrictions though...

I remember running at AMP the same day as LUKE DAYS was going on... Heading down the back straight all of a sudden I couldn't hear the open exhaust on my car or the open megaphones 914-6 right next to me... Then the shadow of a F16 ripping right over the track at 300kts or so...

...yea noise limits...riiiiiiiiiiiiight....

Anyway it will be good to have the track back open...

Good news! The map makes it look like a fun course, can't wait to try it out. My fingers are crossed that my 81dB of fury makes it in under the limit...

was that Eric talk for; it gets quieter the further away you get?
